The Embrace Nature project will bring significant added value for society by providing environmental and nature protection knowledge and state-of-the-art, innovative educational tools that will demonstrate attractive visualizations and training approaches.

This project is fully aligned with the European strategy for sustainable development and its implementation complies with the provisions of the policy framework, i.e. to meet the needs of the present while thinking of those of the future generations. All project objectives, expected results and activities are towards nature protection and are designed to support the preservation of environmental resources in the border region and building an eco-mindset in the local population.
The overall project goals will be achieved through the following specific actions:
- exchange of experience and good practices;
- development of educational tools and piloting an effective educational campaign for nature protection to trigger a behavioral change in the general public;
- development of mid-term management plan;
- interventions for preservation and restoration of ecosystems in the CB area.

The project addresses the common territorial challenges related to nature protection in the CB area of Bulgaria and Serbia, which is acknowledged by the Program as a specific objective, requiring joint CB actions. Effective CB cooperation is demonstrated in all Embrace Nature project activities. All partners provide complementary expertise and deliverables, jointly contributing to the achievement of project objectives and results. The joint efforts of CB population and institutions allow for more effective resource sharing and protection. Cooperation and exchange of best practices lead to increased effectiveness of targeted measures. Joint actions based on the concept of mutual support reinforce environment protection and social integration and build a liaison between nations.
All project activities aim at stimulating the cooperation on both sides of the border and benefiting from synergies in the field of nature protection. Upgrading the existing equipment and gaining relevant knowledge will expand the partners’ capacities, strengthen CB cooperation and best practices exchange. The envisaged interventions will reinforce natural equilibrium in the programme area and establishment of a better living environment for residents and visitors. The cumulative impact on the CB area will directly contribute to the achievement of the Programme Specific objective 3.2 Nature Protection by enhancing the capacity of local stakeholders.
